Strawberries were first born in Europe in the 17th century. When it was first grown in the United States in 1835. Strawberries became so popular that they are now eaten all over the world. 

Everyone loves it because of its unique taste and sweetness. Fifty of the total strawberry production is produced in Spain and Poland. It is also grown in Russia, Japan and Turkey. 

It occurs in almost every state in the United States and is eaten with great relish. It is used in cakes, beverages, ice cream, and other food items because of its pleasant aroma and taste.

Strawberries are also found in the mountainous regions and plains of India but on a smaller scale. New varieties are being cultivated by importing from other countries, resulting in increased sales.

Strawberries are grown in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan as well as in Punjab and Sindh but on a limited scale. In Sindh, strawberries are imported from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to meet the demand. 

Its sales center is in Karachi. Its production is not high in the beloved homeland, so it is also imported from neighboring countries.

Weather and Soil

Strawberries can also be grown in extremely hot regions, temperate regions, and Mediterranean climates. This sand thrives in the soil mixture and the plant needs more moisture to be fertile. Before planting, check that the soil does not contain germs or insects that can damage plant roots.

Production

Strawberries are pen and seed. The plant sprouts when planted with seeds and can also be grown by planting a twig from the female plant. It is grown in October and November. 

The quality of the fruit of a plant that grows from a pen is better than that of a plant that grows from a seed. Strawberries can also be planted in pots, orchards, and greenhouses. Its plants are usually sold in nurseries at a reasonable price.

Chemical Composition

Strawberries are low in starch and calories, and an excellent source of minerals and vitamins. It contains more vitamin C than oranges. A well-ripened strawberry contains 89% water. The remaining 10% contains the following minerals.

Vitamin C, 64 mg, Vitamin A (5 mg), Vitamin B (Vitamin B), 1 mg, Manganese 15 mg, Steel 96 mg, Sodium 5, 2 mg Zinc, Zinc 12, 0 mg, Calcium 21 mg Phosphorus. According to another study, it also contains a reasonable amount of pectin.

Medical Benefits

Strawberries are rich in vitamins, which are used to build bones, bleeding teeth, and heal wounds. It strengthens new cells, strengthens blood vessels, cleanses the blood, lowers cholesterol, fights cancer, and is extremely useful for heart patients. Its leaves are made into tea and drunk.

Usage

Strawberry is a unique fruit, which is eaten in many ways. People eat it as a dessert, by applying cream and sprinkling sugar. Strawberries are also eaten in their original state. 

It is added to cakes, drinks, ice cream, jams, jellies, and milkshakes to make you happy. It is also added to bitter medicines so that children can swallow them easily. Eating it increases the whiteness of teeth.

• Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province produces more strawberries than Punjab and Sindh.
• In the Hazara district, people also use it in pots. Swat, Malakand, Mardan, Wali Bagh, and Charsadda are well recognized for strawberry cultivation. It is cultivated on both sides of the canal on an area of ​​2 hectares for industrial production.
• In Punjab, it is cultivated on the banks of rivers in Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Gujarat, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi.
• Strawberry cultivation in Sindh province is being improved by importing agricultural equipment from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is already being cultivated on a limited scale in Khairpur and Nowshera Feroze. Matiari and Nawabshah districts have also been found suitable for their cultivation.
