A new study warns that repeatedly setting the alarm to snooze in the morning can have negative health effects.

In a study conducted at the University of Notre Dame, researchers found that people who set the alarm repeatedly to snooze were likely to have a higher heart rate than those who woke up immediately when the alarm went off.

The study found that alarm snoozers spent an hour in light sleep before waking due to constant alarm interruptions, but those who did not set their alarms to snooze benefited from deeper sleep in the last hour, meaning they had an overall Get more and better sleep.

A previous study from the same university revealed that a high heart rate may be the cause of the link between poor sleep and cardiovascular disease.

In another study, these researchers found that people who went to bed 30 minutes later than their normal bedtime had elevated heart rates throughout the night and sometimes into the next day.

These sleeping habits are also worrisome because a high heart rate increases the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

It should be noted that setting the alarm to snooze is an option that turns off the alarm for a short period of time and starts ringing again after a while.
